Updation

It rained really hard yesterday. Luckily Andrea and I were out at the track early for our workout so by the time the downpour came, I was on the couch watching football with my legs up.

We leave for LA on Saturday, very early. I think that we are taking a one pit approach to this race (sorry, I have been watching some F1 racing that was tivo’ed). It should be Portland to Monterey Bay, with a lunch stop in Redding at the nearest In n Out to Portland. Then a nice drive down the coast to LA on Sunday with maybe an extended stop in Santa Barbara.

I got a peek at my new track machine. More details on that later.

Lastly, I see that I did not post the rest of the results for Collegiate Natz. Andrea ended up 3rd in the 500 Meter TT, 2nd in the Sprints, and 3rd in the Overall Omnium.

Colorado Springs

It’s raining harder than a cow pissing on a flat rock. It seems that more than just collegiate cyclists have converged on the 7-Eleven velodrome yesterday and for the rest of the week. Andrea was able to race yesterday morning in the 2k Pursuit. She caught her pursuit partner, which always slows you down a bit, but still put in a respectable 2:47.4 for 7th place. Tela Crane placed 10th overall and Anita came in 14th out of 32 racers. The afternoon session was finally canceled after 3 hours of waiting for the rain to stop after it started as the national anthem was being sung. The events of the evening, which included the 500 meter and 1 kilometer time trials, were moved to this morning.

When we woke up, it was still raining and there is no sign of relief. So it was a quick trip to Starbucks and now we get to watch CNN as they cover this hurricane. I’m glad I don’t live in Texas.
